Action required: upgrade analysis runtime to Java 21 before July 20, 2026

We’re reaching out to inform you about an upcoming change to SonarQube Cloud that may require action from your team.

Starting July 20, analyses on SonarQube Cloud that run with a Java runtime lower than 21 will no longer be supported and will fail.

To avoid any disruption, please make sure the environment used to run your analysis is upgraded to Java 21 or later before that date.

If you are using a currently supported scanner version with JRE auto-provisioning enabled, no action is needed because the required Java runtime is managed automatically.

For more details, you can refer to our community notices:
Phasing out Java 17 as a Scanner Runtime
Brownout Notice: Phasing out Java < 21 as a Scanner Runtime on SonarQube Cloud

This email is being sent to ensure teams are aware of this update and have time to prepare ahead of the change. If your team is already using Java 21 or higher for analysis, no action is needed.
